Truly, the quintessential "Dive Bar"!
Even the bathrooms reflect those of a Dive Bar; Clean enough to be safe [as long as you stand upright] yet dirty enough to acknowledge those who didn't! And the aromas are strong enough to make you momentary sober!
The Urinal is always brimming with freshly-deposited, "Human Lemonade", and can be a "particular treat" for those who enjoy the other kind of "beverage" - straight from the "Trough"!
The insides know "No Paint", The windows know "No Windex", The bar and stools know "No Youth" yet know "Methuselah"... and the floors - know neither "Broom, Mop nor Polish" and may have come from the "Biblical Ark"?
An Exhaust Fan would be greatly appreciated as the dive gets packed, and the swells of humanity, invoke the odors of the local stables, pens, sties and latrines! On rare occasions, relief comes - as the older boys will splash on an abundance of either "Brut," or "English Leather"!
However, the aforementioned all adds up to its distinct, tawdry character, along with its "Culturally Challenged" regulars who know not the "The Cornerstone" or who descend from "The Cornerstone" for additional, brews and shots - surrounded by the "Roughriders". It is not and it shall never be - a classy joint; yet, it is a joint - in and of itself - and that is what continues to make "Lou's Tavern" the glorious and undisputed Dive of the dives!
Awsome environment ....especially game night. Drinks at a great price.......encouraging you to drink all night.....and we did. Come as you are and i mean it
This is a very nice spot. If you are a connoisseur of dive bars like I am, you will love the decor and vibe. The customers and bartender were all friendly. Price was about average I guess. Regarding food, they said they only had a small bar pie, and that limited menu sort of gave me the impression that it was probably frozen and heated up, so I passed on the food and just enjoyed a beer and the atmosphere. Definitely a nice spot to grab a drink though. Especially if you are a local in the area of this bar, I definitely recommend it. If you are a fellow dive bar connoisseur, put this one on your list, and unless you happen to be hungry at the time, I don't think you'll be disappointed at all. Go and enjoy!
I want to tell you something that i saw a man fighting himself outside Lou's tavern. He was talking about making soap. I thought you should know.
I haven't been there since the pandemic, but it was really a good place to unwind. Everyone is friendly, bands, and an outdoor area. I stopped in for a quick visit while on my motorcycle and people still remembered me, including the barmaid. It's a nice old fashion beer and a shot working man's bar, and ladies welcome.
Good old down home neighborhood bar. We've only been there a handful of times, but as soon as we walk in, we are greeted like family!! Cindy and her bartenders are the sweetest people ever!!!
Great local tavern friendly bar and does good stuff for fundraising
